Looking for a hard cover for a 3500 series (not a carry case)

Hi: This is my first post here....
I just acquired a 3597 LMTHD and I think it's a gorgeous design, but I am a bit of a fumble fingers. So I am looking for some drop protection to keep the glass and metal frame from being damaged if the Nuvi slips from my fingers en route between the carry case and the dash mount.
There are a ton of carry cases online, but I have found nothing that will offer basic impact protection while still allowing the mount and rear power button to function.
Something like the Otterbox Defender for the iPad would be great. But they don't make any gps covers. ;(
Ram makes a completely waterproof enclosure, but it is huge and very dorky looking. ... http://www.rammount.com/Portals/0/Skins/NationalProducts/xgr...
Any ideas or suggestions?
Or should I just slice open some 3/8" rubber fuel hose and glue it around the perimeter? LOL.
Thanks.

SPECK TOUGHSKIN GARMIN NUVI GPS CASE BLACK
Perhaps something like this would work. I'm not sure if this particular model fits yours, but I'm sure they have others.

Case
Goto Walmart and look for a neoprene zipper case typically used for a smart phone or tablet. Some of them come with a poly insert that you can also use for extra protection. I did this for my 2797; works fine.

That is cool, but I am a little mystified. If you go to the Speck home page, they show no gps cases. I wonder if that one is a fake or old stock. It wouldn't fit mine anyway.

Can you elaborate? I see lots of zippered neoprene cases, like this one specifically for Nuvi 2500/3500 series:

Did you find one that is a snug fit that also has a clear viewing window? Or did you just cut openings into it, front and back? I guess I could do that but I am afraid it would look pretty awful afterwards.
