Extra_POI_Editor update by TurboCCC

After 2 years I think, here's an update to Extra_POI_Editor (EPE).

Changes from v5.32 to beta v5.35
•Fixed the Geocoding and Batch Geocoding functions
•Reduced the maximum POI loaded in EPE to 500,000 instead of 1,000,000.
•Fixed a runtime error when hitting the Grab button before the map is drawn in the POI Edit window.

You can download the update using the link below. For the first time used, use the installer instead.

Enjoy!

File Format Issue

billybovine wrote:

Since the original file works I guess I will leave well enough alone for now.

I converted your original file from Unix format (LF) to Windows format (CR/LF).

EPE opened the 469 POIs in new file in about 2 seconds.

Seems that EPE has a problem reading GPX files with Unix line end characters.

EDIT: Back in 2010, Turbo said that EPE can't process Unix format files, and provided a workaround here:

thanks

Thanks Camerabob for the effort you put in the solution you came up with. Also thanks to WAASup for leading me to a solution that is so simple to do. I loaded the file into Wordpad and then saved it again and that's it done. EPE handles it no problem after that.

.

Perfect example above of why I love this site. Whenever a member posts a problem everyone jumps in to find a solution.

Update

Thank you for the update.

Hope it is just me but I dont think so.. Maybe Google changed something again?

That this seemed to fix itself. I still belive that it might have beed something to do with a server on google. Out of nowher it fixed itself on the 2 machines that I was tring to do it with. (Yea, it could have been our provider too, who knows)

Anyways, just want all to know it is now working again and working on a update to my great Offbeat areas again!
