Nuvi 3590 LMT Splash Screen

Is it possible to create my own splash screen? I had done it on the Nuvi 760, but I have forgotten how I had done it. If its possible, what are the size restrictions on the photo? How do I create one?

800 x 480 pixels

Well, the 3590 display is 800 x 480 pixels so that's the ideal size for a new image.

Spalsh Screen Options

You can use your own jpg image and resize it free online.

You can do a google search for keywords "free online jpeg editor" and will bring up many sites.

Here you can change the Pixel size to the 800 X 400 and add text if you like. To see what Garmin uses for pixel size on your 3790, select one of the available stock pics on the Nuvi and open it with the online editor. DON"T SELECT any of the 3 with Garmin locations. Whatever that size is would be what I would use for the pixel size. You may want to consider using 480 X 232 to compare to the 800 X 400 and see what you like better.

There are also other modifications you can make. Play with the various available sites and select the one you like best and is easiest for you.

Once you have modified the jpeg save it to your PC and then copy it to the Pictures Folder on your Nuvi.

Next follow the link CraigW gave to save it as your splash screen.

Both my Nuvi's have custom splash screens with text in the pictures.
