garmin 2455 gpx file folder

I want to replace a gpx folder in my nuvi with an updated gpx folder. when I open the gpx file folder stored on my nuvi it currently has an archive folder, lpt file, current 1 gpx folder, and a current gpx file. do I have to delete any of the files or folders I've listed before I install the new ones with poi loader? it's been quite some time since I've done this and don't want to mess it up. thanks for any help.

If

If your installing gpx files using POIloader you don't need to do anything with the GPX folder on the Nuvi since POIloader will create a gpi file and install it in the POI folder on your Nuvi.

As far as the files in your GPX folder are concerned they are:

Current.gpx - created new each time you boot the Nuvi UP and contains your Saved Places and tracks. Doesn't do any good to delete it as a new one will get created anyway.

Current1.gpx - sounds like a file containing the favorites and tracks from another GPS or from a backup of current.gpx. The Nuvi will see the contents of this file and incorporate the data into the current.gpx file. If you have booted the Nuvi up since this file was placed on the device, it can be deleted and probably should be.

Lpt file - not sure why this is in the GPX folder but it isn't needed there. I'd move it to my computer and insure the Nuvi operates properly without it and then delete it if all is OK.

Archive Folder - Folder that stores old track files that are moved to archive as the Nuvi's trip log fills up. These can be deleted if not needed.

What are you hoping to accomplish by "replacing" the GPX folder?
