Colorado law Shields lawmakers from camera tickets

.

Let's see... How many ways can we take this story? Hmmmm.

You bet they should be

You bet they should be treated just like any other citizen!!!

Fred

Equally?

"Johnston also said he favors fixing the problem so lawmakers are treated equally."

Good luck with that! I have yet to meet a legislator who wants to be treated like the sheep they lord over. I am sure if such a bill were introduced, it would get marked up to the point where they would not only get a specific exemption from the law, but fines and penalties would be raised for the citizens to boot!

I support the right to keep and arm bears.

Sort of like having the vanity plate "NO TAG"

What's new about this

So what's new about our law makers trying to get out of things that we can't. But the worst part is that folks kept on voting these jerks back in again and again. So who's at fault here, them or us.

If you FAVOR fixing something, that does not mean you're actually going to put pen to paper and do anything about it.

It's the legal equivalent of shrugging one's shoulders and saying "Meh..."

It's a common quote from the elected....

collateral damage

imho it's not a loophole, it's something that wasn't thought out. The entire license plate is not in the DMV records linking the vehicle to a politician, it has nothing to do with the photo cam. The driver is shielded from any kind of non moving violation--a parking ticket would similarly go to the woman with the "33" plate.

This is nothing new. A diplomatic or consul license plate issued by DOS is not linked to an individual, but an agency.

Personally I find that everything has to be sensationalized, even stuff like this. I guess we don't have enough excitement otherwise. smile

Besides, the politician said he paid the tix, so what now?

loony tunes?

Lately I wouldn't put anything past some of the loony tune lawmakers in Colorado, they're beginning to sound like the California bunch.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

Hypocrites

They're all pretty much the same. Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. They look out for their own ass like cops, etc...

And so it goes...
