I would like to get a 7" size Garmin. They have a 7" 2757LM for $220 and now they have a new RV 760LM for $400. Having the RV input for size and info on areas not to travel worth the difference of $180?

there is another
There's another thread on this. The Garmin RV760 hasn't been released yet so no one can tell you much about the unit. Our guess is it's built from the DEZL760, a professional trucker's unit and the reviews on that unit have been pretty solid.

It is hard to see paying $180 more for the 760 over the 2757. Both the new RV 760 and the DEZL760 are $400 while the 2757LM is $220. What I am trying to see is experience that says it is worth paying more to get a GPS with RV input.

Does the 2757 have some or any of these features that the RV760 has:
Specialized RV routing supports RV-related estrictions in both the U.S. and Canada (customizable by height, weight, length, width)
Shows America's RV parks and service locations
Displays elevation grade of current roads while driving
Includes RV specific features such as state border notices, speed limit changes, sunrises/sunsets and mile marker info
External video input for backup cameras
This stuff maybe worth the price difference to someone driving a 40' motorhome.

I like the backup monitor part as well as height.
I was using an older GPS driving my motorhome east of Atlanta when I was directed around a turn then under a low clearance railroad bridge. I cleared by 8", if I had bigger unit I would have taken the AC's off. I was configured as a bus but that didn't help.

The RV 760 would be worth the money if you drive an RV. Most of the 7" units are for RV drivers. If you are looking for a bigger screen look into getting a tablet installed in your dash or mount with any of the good navigation apps installed.
RV760
Does anyone know if the RV760 has a truck setting as well?
It also has detour by road on the fly.

I somehow doubt that. Why would Garmin add a truck setting? They would rather sell two units (an RV 760 and a Dezl 760) than include truck settings on the RV 760 and RV settings on the Dezl 760.

The problem that I see is that dezl760 is based off the 2012 models, while the nuvi2797 and RV760 is based off of the 2013 models. Garmin should have done just one model with all features combined.
RV760LMT - Reduced Price on Garmin Web Site
Today (6/15/2013), I was alerted by a fellow RV'er that the Garmin web site store is currently selling the RV760LMT for $180 off the $400 list price. I couldn't believe that was true, but checked the web site and found exactly that. Plus the web site shows the product in stock and available for immediate shipping. That was enough for me - I ordered one!
Just checked
Garmin site, they are still showing $399 and available for pre-order.
Do you have a link where you saw this?

I was able to snap one on sale too. The link I used is no longer valid.

I ordered one today too. Later tonight I got this back from Garmin. I think it a bunch of BS.

Garmin should have honored their website pricing. Even if it was a mistake. They advertised it. They should have accepted your purchase.

Typical policy.
This is the normal procedure when an advertising mistake is made on the price of a product. I have seen the same thing happen with Amazon, Walmart, Target and others. I would have been surprised if Garmin had honored the price on orders made from a web page with pricing errors. Who knows? It is possible their site was hacked. In any case, some programmer or content manager probably lost his job, or at least was reprimanded.

Assumed It Was Too Good To Be True
I assumed a discount that large on a product so recently announced was probably too good to be true. But I placed an order yesterday morning (6/15/2013) just in case it was valid. Later in the day, I received the e-mail from Garmin indicating the price was in error and my order had been cancelled. Oh well...
In the end, Garmin did honor
In the end, Garmin did honor the price. The $180 off was only listed for an hour or so, but it was really employee discount price. Those that got the order in and had in cancelled only had to call back today and Garmin put it back in at discount price.

THAT sounds more like Garmin. I have never known their customer service to be less than excellent. I just ordered an RV760 last week. I had an old 10% coupon that I'd never used and tried it. The order would not accept the discount, but when I emailed Garmin they credited me back the $40. Not $180, but...
