2360LM; Finding POI's along current route

I have a Nuvi 2360LM that will not locate POI's along an active route. It will only find POI's around your current location. I talked with Garmin a couple times and am not having any success in resolving the issue. Just wondering if anybody has this issue and or may have a fix. neutral

Didn't ever think it could

I don't think any Nuvi does that. When I want to find a POI along the route, I just look at the arrows to determine if it's "on the route" or not.

There they are.
In my example there are ten locations, one of them 76 miles away, on the route

"Near" routing

wink Once you load a route, say 400 miles due west. You then go back to "Where To" select then "Near", a menue opens and you can use 1. Where I am now 2. my destination 3. Along my current route 4.a different city 5. recent destination 6. favorite destination. Then you go to your custom POI and select what you are looking for. Let's say "Cat Scales" cause you need to weigh your chicken (Trailer). It should only show what is ahead of you, not behind unless the 1st poi behind is closer than ahead. If it is working correctly, no more than 10 miles or so N or S of your east to west route. All of my other Garmins and those that belong to my fellow drivers at work do it. This is essential in finding places to break at and utilize all hours available on our Hours of Service(HOS). Depending on your Garmin, the "NEAR" button are in different locations. If you don't see the near button at the bottom of the 1st screen after touching Where To?, then it should be under the 3 horizontal lines at the top left of that screen showing recently found etc...

"Near" routing

question The issue that I am having is that my search always come back as though I selected "Where I am now". Been usin Garmins' over 4 years and I'm baffeled. Techs don't have an answer and I was thinking that a firmware issue was to blame. But now I am more of a mind that this unit has an operating system glitch.
?????????????????

Did you miss a step?

Select option 3. Then go to custom POI...Perhaps you did, but your statement did not indicate this.

On my 2390 equivalent (2465(TW)), the procedure is exactly as you outlined in your previous post. It works as it suppose to also, showing me the POIs ahead along the route and those close to where I am at that moment.

The search "near" option does go back to the default "where I am now" if you go back to the Main screen, start over and begin with "Where to". You have to set the "near" option one more time. I guess it is the way Garmin designed it.
