Replaced computer, now using base camp & win 7

I recently had to replace my old laptop. New laptop has Win 7 and now base camp

How do I manage/organize POIs, custom POIs & favorites on my zumo550 with this combo?

.

You'll still use POI Loader for loading poi's to the device, and Web Updater for device updates just like the old laptop. It's the same setup.

the only change

will be using Base Camp if you hadn't made the switch from Mapsource.

How can I get the POI file

How can I get the POI file organization (folders and sub-folders tree) from the GPS onto the laptop?? if that makes sense

Also, is it possible to go back to map-source?

thanks

Mike

Is getting your data off the old laptop out of the question?

Mike, connect your 550 to the computer
Open BaseCamp
It will load your GPS under the Library block.
Click on Library to bring up Collection
rt click Collection and create a FOLDER: may call it Zumo 550 data... Right click on Folder to make a list..Call this list Internal Memory data, you can make as many list as necessary..Make a second list called SD card Data... Click on the USER DATA on GPS showing (SD card) and drag and drop to your list call User Data. Click on internal memory, when hightlighted drag and drop to your list called Internal memory...

That it... all your data from your Zumo is now loaded in BaseCamp... of course you can drag and drop to other lists...depending on data...

I edited for the simplest way to get data over without moving blocks of data within the Filter... You can click on you newly created list and that data will appear below in Data box...use filter to separate Waypoints/POI or Routes or total list.. or tracks.

You data is now stored in BaseCamp....Create a new Folder and list for Clean map...

Hope this helps.

If BaseCamp was installed by the Garmin MapUpdater you can download and install MapSource from this link:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209

Your latest map has already been configured by MapUpdater, and will be recognized when you start MapSource after the install.

If you have not installed the latest map update, you must do so in order to use MapSource.
