Trying to do a little housekeeping. Considering my language of choice is American English, what file(s) do I need to maintain in the \text folder on my Nuvi 1390T?

There is no en_US.glx, only a en_GB.glx - is that the only english language file?

GLX files are the keyboard

GLX files are the keyboard files. You don't have to keep the en_GB.glx file, but I personally prefer using the GB GLX file because of the accented characters available by tapping the ALT key.

US VS GB

I guess that's really my question. I do not have an en_US.glx file, only an en_GB.glx file. Am I supposed to have an en_US.glx file?

No. The en_US.glx file is embedded in the firmware.

Maybe creating a file en_US.glx would overwrite the one in the firmware, but I do not know.

Backup

I would suggest backing up any files to your PC before deleting them from your nuvi... just in case.

Empty Text folder

I went ahead and emptied the text folder. Still have en_US, so that must be built-in.

glx files for 1490 T

Deleted all files from text folder. How can I recover or where can I download from? Webupdater doesn't work and I already deleted xml file and used webupdater to create new.

They come from a 1300, but should work just fine in your 1490.
