Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? – March 2013

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.)

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Area 51

We are currently parked at the Little A'le' Inn, at Rachel, NV. Two flying saucers are in the parking lot, although one of them looks suspiciously like parts from an old satellite dish. There are strange sounds each day, either sonic booms, or the bombing range, coming from the other side of the mountain at Area 51.

The Garmin got us here fine, although there really are not too many roads to get lost on around here...

Last Trip

Boston for St. Paddy's Day

Work, Groceries, Doctor, Pharamacy

Welcomed in Spring in the normal fashion! Heavy traffic, but just the usual delays, no accidents observed.

To a meeting across town

I knew exactly how to get there. But the nifty little ETA allowed me to plan my detour.

Day trip

to Long Beach and back.

Back from Utah

Drove from the Midwest to Utah and back. Was great to have the proper lanes highlighted in the major cities along the way. I would have missed some exits if I had not had the guidance.

Work & Play

Just down the turnpike to Bedford, PA and back. Then out I-80 to Clearfield, PA and back. It's all familiar highway driving and you can't get lost but it's nice to know how far the next rest stop is. And what food that I like is off the next few exits.

Windmill-new green energy for vehicles?

Our last trip was from TX to KS to IL to KS to TX to NM to CO, then back to TX via KS and OK.

It was my 1st time to use the StreetPilot. Found out it is temperamental, so I have some troubleshooting and fixn' before my next trip next month.
Seems I was lost more trying to follow the GPS then using paper maps and gut instincts, sad but the XM worked great! grin

if you're following me, then we're both lost.

Short trip

to the Post Office, 99¢ store, and KFC...

Phily

Last trip was to Philadelpia, PA for some great and fresh tacos from Honest Tom!!!

New open road - Milton, ON

Used the 255W as I explored a new road that had been planned for years but never finished till recently.

Wanted to find connecting roads for truck routes to bypass the congested route presently used through the City as there was never any choice.

With the City expanding so fast they had to complete construction as huge warehouses were also being constructed in the area and by using the Garmin I found a new route that takes at least 15 minutes off travel time to get on the 401.

Did not think the road would have shown up so quickly on the satellite, but everything was there!

Doctor visit...

Went to new Doc for some tests. Never would have found the place without the GPS. Wouldn't have made it home either, because I actually went the wrong way coming home before turning the GPS back on. confused
