Issues and Answers (Map Updates)???

I have not yet downloaded, but when I do I will report both the good and the bad things I find

Might be useful for the reason's you state, but on the other hand just documenting speed limit differences or even incorrect roads in this forum will not get anything changed. We need to report these issues to Navteq and Garmin, which in the long run maybe a better use of our time.

Also I would thing we would need to be sure this thread contained only mapping issues, like the one you use as an example. If we use it to report installation problems then we will just end up with one more thread having the same issues that have been detailed in 2 or 3 or 4 other places.

Yor local Trans Dept is the one responcible/At fault for most of these problems as they send in the updates. Here, Pima County and Tucson can take 4 years to show up on Navtec, and some parts of the Country take only a year or two.

To me this is nothing more than a "lets make a changelog" thread. The entire reason Navteq and Garmin don't do changelogs for each map update is that the number of changes are so voluminous as to be virtually useless to anyone but an obsessive/compulsive.

Could you imagine just how large this thread would be if everyone actually did post the things they found wrong in the map updates? It'd be a never-ending process; something Navteq is quite aware of. They have a fleet of vehicles that do nothing but drive about all day, every day, mapping changes to the roads.
