Nuvi 2460 background map disappeared

I was driving down the freeway and noticed that on the display the vehicle icon was traveling towards a blank portion of the background map until the entire map disappeared except for the vehicle icon and the top green info bar. Tried shutting down and resetting but still same problem. I then brought it into the house and connected to ac power source and everything seems normal. Has anyone else experience the disappearing map display while driving?

I've had my 2460 for about two years and used it extensively and never saw anything like that.

Dying Battery?
Are you sure your 2460 was properly connected to the power cable(traffic receiver) and was receiving power?
It's possible you were not receiving power and was relying on battery power and the battery weakened.
I like my 2460 but the battery life just plain sucks from day 1.
If it performed properly when connected to the AC outlet I would think it's a problem with the unit while plugged into the cigarette lighter.
1- Bad connection on power cradle
2- Power not being supplied by vehicle
3- Bad power Cable or defective cradle

My 2450
Several times half of my 2450 disapears when I am looking at the entire route.
I go to another view and it comes back.
I also don't get names of most of the streets when looking at the map. Only a few street names are displayed.
Is this normal?

I tried it at 200 and only the main road showed the street name.
Could there be a problem with my gps?
I don't run any other programs...at least I think I have turned them all off, I will check.

Same problem
with my 3450. I have to reboot to correct it.
