Finally, transfer CSV , OV2 files to BaseCamp via GPX format

Shouted Yahoo!!!!

Finally I figured out how to get the CSV files to Basecamp....and the map to show the POIs.

I tried MyPOI Manager, POI Edit, POI Loader and GPSBabel to no avail... I could get the data to transfer but NO Map to show...

Then I downloaded from POI Factory the Tom Tom .0v2 download instead of CSV format.

Used GPSBabel and it was a snap...complete with POI showing on my Map in BaseCamp.

Being a "ole farm boy" and graduated at the top of my class in the school of "trial and error" I finally got it.

Hope this helps someone.....

OK

That means you converted a CSV to OV2 which was converted to GPX and then imported to Base Camp. Right?

Convert OV2 to GPX

I downloaded a OV2 file (Tom Tom)then used GPS Babel to convert that downloaded file to GPX format...

Then open BaseCamp and imported the GPX file to the proper list.

Process is quick....

In regard to CSV files, I was able to tranfer to BaseCamp the POI in GPX format...but never could get the MAP to appear.

Bottom line... use OV2 download, convert to GPX, Import that GPX to BaseCamp List file.

Sorry if I over explained.

CSV files

I haven't had any problems importing a CSV file into BaseCamp and displaying them on a map. What problem were you having?

(Yes, I know that the original problem was getting OV2s into BaseCamp.)

No Map Display

I could get the CSV POI to import to BaseCamp using the mentioned programs...but never could get the map to display..POI where on blank screen...

However now with GPSBabel and downloading the OV2 format no problem.

So I am happy! So much so I donated to GPSBabel.....
