SmartLink and parking

I just got a Garmin 3490LMT and have it linked to my Samsung Galaxy Nexus via SmartLink. What I'd like to do is be able to track where I parked my car leaving the GPS at the car and using my cellphone to get back to the car. I've done a lot of searching and can'[t find the answer.

Smartphone Link Parking Location
If your Nuvi and the Smartphone Link app are connected, your Parking Location is saved when you remove your Nuvi from its mount (do this BEFORE you turn off the engine).
To access the Parking Location with the Smartphone Link app touch Parking & Destination. Next, touch the P tab (top right), then touch the P icon on the map.
This is the way it works with my 2595. It should be similar with your 3490.

Not compatible
Unfortunately it's not listed as compatible with older models. My nüvi 760 is bluetooth enabled but not new enough for this feature.
