Hmm, I guess that just like everything else China copies, there will be quite a few comical mistakes before they get it right.

New Mayor is about to start installing speed cameras around schools. Will be active within 1/8 mile of school. They talk fleetingly about safety but then go into how much revenue will be generated per year.

The method on how the law is created is also varies from countries to countries.

At least in the US, it is not very likely unless traffic law is changed.

Running yellow light is O.K. as long as not speeding, able to clear intersection without stopping, and/or not violate any other traffic law.

Never the less, running yellow light is dangerous and should be avoided if all possible.

While other goals maybe attained these cameras are there to make a profit, period. If there is no profit the cameras disapear. While they may claim they decrease accidents the primary driver is revenue for the private company that installs and maintains them and the city, county or state that shares in the profits.

And how do the profits disappear? Could it be less people running the light = not enough revenue?

Not to mention violating people's rights.

In the same vein, I wouldn't mind somebody inventing a green light cameras ticketing the people sleeping/texting/putting make-up, reading, or adjusting their GPS instead of moving when the light turns green...
