Garmin 750 Will no update.

I have lifetime updates but last week during the update the windows update arrived and shut my computer off in the process. Now I can't update as it always exits before its done and says call garmin if this continues. I checked and do not have a large map file but have 1.4 gig of space available on the gps. Today I tried mapupdater after copying the update to the computer and tried loading it from there. Do I need to delete some files before updating or what? I have done a hard reset twice and nothing has worked. If I try to check the map on gps map info is not highlighted so I can't check to see if its checked nor will it tell me the version thats loaded. I am pretty sure that the map is not loaded but some reason it keeps rejecting it. Thanks Alan
Your best option
is to get a 4 GB or 8 GB SD card and install the new map there instead of internal memory.

Your nuvi 750 is one of the nuvi 700 series listed in footnote 2 and I can confirm that it worked for my nuvi 750.
However, at this point, Garmin thinks you have the latest map so you will need to log into myGarmin:
https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/login.htm
then tab to myMaps where you will find your 750 listed and then be able to select the option to reinstall your "current" map.
Make sure that your computer will not go to sleep for the 2+ hours it'll take to do the download and installation.
I tried it again and bombed
I tried it again and bombed out. It gets all the way to installing maps about a third of the way and I get a closed due to unexpected errors and contact garmin is this continues to exist.
Too big
The mapset is too big to fit on a 750. I have a 760 and this is the first mapset that wouldn't fit on the unit itself. You MUST install it to the SD card if you want the full mapset.

Update. I loaded 2010.40 on
Update. I loaded 2010.40 on there last night with no problem and its working so now I will attempt the latest map to the 4 gig card. Thanks for all of the help on this matter.
The 2013.30 would not load
The 2013.30 would not load on the card in the gps. I recieved an data not successfully sent message. So I took the sd card and plugged it into the computer with the gps plugged in to the usb port and it downloaded just fine. I removed the card and put it in the gps and turned it on and it loaded the map and everything is working fine.

Data speed
The data speed when sending things directly to the GPS is horrid. I often use a card reader instead. Glad you got it worked out.
