No more lifetime maps for 1450???

Hi all,

I was trying to update my 1450 today and I received message that I needed to purchase maps.

This was supposed to have the lifetime maps.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

G

BTW I used their

.

Did the unit that you specifically purchase come with the Lifetime Maps? (For example, did it have the LMT extension on the model number?)

Secondly, never use the Lifetime Updater tool. It's buggy.

The second link that you posted should work if the specific unit has the Lifetime Maps activated for it.

Yes this is a 1450 LMT

connect your 1450 to your pc. Then:

my.garmin.com/maps/updates

Click on "Find updates"

Are you the original owner and bought it new?

Are you the original owner and bought it new?

Have you downloaded and installed the lifetime maps on this unit previously?

If you registered it and were the original owner the lifetime maps on a LMT model never expire until the unit will no longer function. If you buy it used the lifetime maps are no longer valid and you have to purchase them.

Last Map Update

When did you last update your maps prior to this attempt? If it has been more then 2 years, Garmin considers the device no longer in service thus no more map upgrades. You may have to call Garmin.

I am the original owner and

I am the original owner and my last update was about 4 months ago. That was the first and only update I've done.

my.garmin.com/maps/updates download still says I need to purchase a map. but reload previous map appears to be working...

Any more ideas?

Is the issue that I'm too up to date?

.

Send an email to Garmin Support explaining what happened. Between that and the folks here, your problem will be addressed.

Your first update was the free one that everyone gets. At that time, Garmin should have informed you that your unit is eligible for lifetime updates. Apparently they did not. Our latest map is 2013.30
I'm thinking that Garmin help desk is the only ones that can fix this.

No problems here

Two-and-a-half years ago I bought a Nuvi 1450 from Amazon.com. It isn't a 1450LMT, but I bought the lifetime map option from Amazon at the same time and haven't had any problems updating the maps every time Garmin comes out with a new one.

Contact Garmin

Call up Garmin, I find they are very good at trying to help with their products.

Definitely contact Garmin

Definitely contact Garmin Support, they should fix the problem, probably an issue on their end.
