Sounds like a good deal

I know that some may hesitate to purchase because it is refurbished. However, my last three Garmin GPS’s that I have purchased were refurbished. All were in like new condition and still work flawlessly.

Yup

I've had good luck as well - when they are sold by reputable stores. Bought one from a vendor on Amazon before and they were worthless.

I have a refurbished 3790

I have a refurbished 3790 and it works great. The key, as mentioned, is to make certain the seller is reputable

1450 Refurb US and Canada Map

Thanks for the tip Beach Bum.
My 1450 refurb arrived today. It was obvious that it was repacked. The Garmin disclaimer was on the box, but it was a blue & white WM box. The unit looks brand new.
Backed it up and then deleted all of the usual things. That left 225MB free space. I installed 2013.30 with no trouble. US & Canada map fit on the unit with 7.8MB free. I deleted the small JCV and installed D3060080A in a Garmin folder on the SD card.
Then I loaded all the custom poi files and I still have 20MB free on the unit.

$79.98 sale is over... It's now $84.98

The 'sale' is over, but the 1450LMT is only $5 more w/ free shipping if you pick it up at your local Wall-Mart.

BTW... The newer model (2555LMT - refurb.) is $132.99 w/free S&H @ Amazon.com. The biggest difference between the two seems to be Garmin Guidance 2.0 on the 2555LMT.

I got one but will be returning it

Looked brand new out of the refurb box. It had no traffic and said to use garminupdater.

I loaded the traffic stuff and some other voices using the Garmin updater. After the update, it could not navigate. It said I had no maps.

No maps showed up under the info tab either. When I download and install new maps, it lists several Mexican cities and says I have to remove them before I add the map. I never downloaded Mexico. I can't see them to unselect them from the map install. I donwloaded a smaller portion of US and Canada and got the same error. Maybe this is why Walmart can be selling all these "brand new" refurb units.

I've spent too many hours trying to make something work that should work out of the box. I like the Garmin interface but I think I am done with Garmin and will be going w/TomTom now. I don't have any issues with updates to my TomTom. I always have issues updating my Garmin units.
