Non Essential Files Nuvi 255W

My new downloaded maps no longer fit on the internal chip so I had to add a SD card. But I'd rather put the card back into my camera!

So, what files are necessary one the 255W
Which files can I delete?

I already took off all the extra voices and car images.

Files to delete.

The unused voice files are the main ones you can delete and you have already taken care of that. You can also remove any .jpg (image files) you may have stored on the unit. Also look in the \garmin\help folder. You may see folders of non-english help files that can be removed.

Delete

Don't really know the 255, but when I had a 350 I removed all help files other than English, any extra vehicle icons, all trial MP3 books and music and anything not needed to run my 350.

But then again SD cards are dirt cheap just buy one for the GPS and be done with it.

You are going to have an issue, sooner or later. You only have 2GB of storage on this unit. Each Map update gets Larger. You really only have 2 choices here. Sell it or use the sd card. I had one of those units, but what I cannot tell you is, how big of a card it will handle.
