Dashboard Mounts

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has tried the $10 dashboard friction mounts from Walmart? Like the Ematic Mobile dashmount or the NavGear Universal mount? I am looking to purchase one, or do you think it would be better to spend the extra and go with the Garmin friction mount? I am looking to use it with a Garmin Nuvi 350.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

K-Mart

I got one a K-Mart that has never failed me.

Kuda...

Kuda custom mount, looks like it's part of the car.

Not cheap, but it fits and looks great.

Looks good but my car is apparently too old for their products (2001). Maybe down the road though!

Why not just use a adhesive

Why not just use a adhesive disc with the original suction mount? It is small and neat.

Thanks for the suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions. The Kuda Mounts look very nice, a little pricey, and I don't really want to stick the adhesive disk to my dashboard, I think I will check out Kmarts or Walmarts, if it slides on my dash, I'm only out $10.

Thanks Again,

Garman mounts work

I use the newer Garmin dashboard mount when traveling. I don't typically drive rentals cars very agressively but it doesn't move. It's a little more, maybe $25 from Amazon, but it works well.

Jim

Same here !

About the new Garmin mount - there was a discussion on it a while back. And I confirm it works wonders, even on "bad roads" or twisty mountain tracks !

Still Using...

The Garmin Suction mount.... Rarely fails with a lick of spit.....

I believe the Traffic receiver is inside it anyway....

I like the new Garmin friction mount

because summer heat was causing all suction-cup-based solutions (including the dash disc) to fail eventually. The friction mount doesn't use any suction cups at all and has worked extremely well for me so far. I got a genuine Garmin one for $14.50 (including shipping) at: http://www.yumdeals.com/Genuine_Garmin_Portable_Non_Skid_Fri...

I was able to find a Garmin

I was able to find a Garmin friction mount on Amazon for less than $20 this summer. It works ok but I prefer the vent mount.

New Garmin Friction Mount Works Better Than The Bean Bags

I agree 100%! My suction mounts always fail during the summer once parked under the sun. Had the old Garmin bean bag and the Ram Mounts’ very heavy friction mount before but like the new Garmin much more. It work and look much better!

ProClips

I've used ProClips for my Garmin and other devices in several vehicles. Easy install and looks good too !
