Garmin Nuvi 1450

I just got a Nuvi 1450 Gps as a gift, the Gps is in great and good working condition, the person who give it to me he only had it for a few months, and he register already after he purchase, Do I still get all the update ,I have an account with my garmin c550, does anyone know what is the policy with garmin when a product is already register with someone else name?
I also Install the safety and speed camera and the Rest area in the 1450 using the POI loader ,The rest area I set the distance to 5000 feet for the allert, The C550 it show me the 5000 feet,but when I look on the 1450 does not show the 5000 feet. I also notice that the 1450 after the filename cvs.it also add the gpx

Call Garmin
I would call Garmin and ask what their policy is in a gifting situation.

We are going to need more information from you on what you have done.
POI Loader makes NO change to the input files on your computer. What POI Loader produces in the [Garmin drive]:\Garmin\POI directory of your device is a .gpi file.
Did you perhaps use Extra POI Editor (EPE) to get the file with the .gpx extension at the end.?
Please look at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/30393 to make sure the setting on your computer are correct for these purposes. You have "double extensions".
There is another way if you still have contact with that person
Ask him to go in his profile to change to your name email address and phone number and the password. After that you can change the password to your own.

Contact the person that gave it to you, have them sign into their Garmin account, select the Nuvi 1450, then delete registration. That will permit you to register in your account.

Thank you Bear you are right Garmin they change the policy ones the update only apply to the original owner who purchase the unit. Now the update it stay with the unit,regardless who own the gps
