Power cord problem

My nuvi 2595 won't turn on today. The red light on the power cord is on, but there is no power to the unit. My husband uses it for his work. There is a long slim rectangular piece ner the end of the cord just before the end that plugs into the unit. Is there a fuse there?

There's a description of fuse replacement on page 70 of the owners manual:

It'll be an easy fix. Most auto parts store, Radio Shack, etc. should carry fuses. Note that it's also possible the the vehicle's fuse to the "cigarette lighter" socket also can blow out so that'd be something to check as well in case the fuse inside the nuvi's power adapter is OK.

The OP stated the red power light on the adapter was on. It wouldn't be a fuse in the unit cord, or the lighter plug-in. The black rectangle is the traffic receiver.

I would try a plain old USB on the computer to see if it goes into computer mode. If so, then it's the cord in the vehicle.

dc power cord/traffic antenna for nuvi 2460lmt and 2595lmt

the 2460lmt(gtm35) or the 2595lmt(gtm26) are
disposal or if you get the fuse out you destroy it.
both the nuvi 2200/2300/2400 and the nuvi 2405/2505 series owners manual's tell you how to replace the fuse but it don't work with these power cords.
