Boating POI's

Anybody have insight on good sites (or even right here) to find boating POI's for fuel stations/marina's for the east coast. Interested in Virginia coast, Chesapeake bay, occoquan bay etc...

Marine GPS

I occasionally use my car GPS on my boat but it would be much better to use a marine GPS or at least a hand held. Marine GPSs have POIs like you want built in. Garmins come with your choice of a coastal map or a inland map and you can add the other one in both cases. It seems like you would want the coastal map. This would give you GPSs but also maps showing water depth.

I use my automotive GPSs on a local lake where I know the name of the marinas. A search gives me a route on roads that is useless but also a point for my destination which is useful. I know which way to go. When I am somewhat lost which way to go is very useful. But I will eventually upgrade to a marine GPS, almost certainly with a fishfinder.

I use the boat ramps POI for

I use the boat ramps POI for the state I'm in and set the Nuvi 360 to walk mode and it can show you the ramps you are near to as you go by.

I have a 76CSx which is a marine oriented GPS with full maps. Under marine points the only thing it shows as a sub menu is tide stations. Taking a quick look I don't see a way to search for marinas.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
