Can NOT see POI after upload to zumo660

Using Garmin POI Loader, I uploaded two different POI files from POI Factory (National Parks and Moose Lodges). I don't see them anywhere I can think of to look. I have re-booted several times.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Need input, number 5.

Details.
Have you loaded POI's before?
Do you see any other POI's on your GPS?
Are they in the same folders?
Do you only have one sub-folder?
Do you have less than 32 files in any subfolder?

Have you tapped:

WhereTo, then Extras, then Custom POIs?

From page 38 of your manual

To view your Custom POIs, touch Where To? > Extras > Custom POIs. To change the proximity alert settings, touch > Settings > Proximity Points > Proximity Alerts.

Welcome to the site.

Since you are new, you may want to do a couple of the Beginner Exercises.

To make it easy, when you click on the first link below, hold down the "Cntl" key as you left-click. That will open a new "Tab" in your browser in the "Tab" bar. Click on that 'Tab" to do the first exercise - leaving the "Tab" you are now reading open and available to click on and return here.

The first link makes sure settings on your computer are such that you can do more advanced POI loading and guides you and getting a manual.

This next link helps you get a backup by attaching your GPS to your computer. (NEVER do anything to your GPS until you have a backup)

details

No I have not loaded poi's before.
Only POI's I see are the ones pre-loaded under icon labeled "Points of Interest" which include Lodging, airports etc.

The POI folder on my zumo 660 already had a POI file with a cryptic name like 0600d435000.GPI. Using the Garmin POI loader, it doesn't ask you where to put the file, it only asks you where find it on laptop drive - browse to it. Interestingly it doesn't ask you to pick a source file only the source folder. I guess it assumes there will be one at this location. The POI loader appl prompts you for the name you want to call it. I was expecting this name to appear along side of the other "pre-loaded" Points of Interest as I mentioned previously.

I do not have any sub-folders on zumo below POI,

I have a total of three .GPI files in the POI folder. One is the one that came pre-loaded.

Thanks for the help.

As you have seen, POI loader asks you for the location of the folder which contains POI files and/or sub-folders that also contain POI files. You can have only one level of sub-folders.

If you had run POI Loader and pointed it to the folder containing your two files and had also told POI Loader the same name to be given to the file, it would have seen that there was a file by that name already in the POI folder and asked if you wanted to overwrite it.

From what you said, you must have given the same input file a different output name.

Assuming that you have done a backup of your device, there is nothing wrong with navigating to the POI folder on your device and deleting extraneous files.

The reason we stress backup is that people often delete files by mistake. With a backup, you can do reloads and then promise never to make the delete mistake again.
