3590 not bright enough

My new 3590lmt is not nearly bright enough to easily see in bright sunlight. I didn't have this problem with my 3490. Brightness is at 100% and still hard to see the screen. The screen is hard to see due to reflections and lack of enough brightness.

It's a bit washed out.

I put my 3490 right up against the 3590 at CES last January as I wanted to return the 3490 for the larger screen but I noticed that when I compared the two side by side, the 3590 looked washed out and the resolution was not as clear as the 3490. They really should have increased the resolution on the 3590 so that it kept the same clarity and brightness as the 3490 but by keeping the specs the same and making the screen larger, it distorted it.

Bad...

Garmin has put out some bad units in the last year. They just can't leave things alone. They think they are making improvements when they are creating problems. The older units all had brighter screens than the new ones have...

It's Garmin's great new safety feature>>>

if you can't see the screen you won't be distracted by the pretty colors while driving...sheesh...next you'll be complaining the memory is too small for normal use or the routing is using an analog from 1936 wink Some people are never satisfied smile

Totally Uncalled For

TnPapa has every right to post his dissatisfaction with his new purchase. Your comments "next you'll be complaining the memory is too small for normal use" is outright rude.

That surprises me....................

That surprises me that it would be that bad because the Garmin 3790 I have is clear, bright and easy to read even in bright sunlight here in Tucson with the top down. I do not even have mine set anywhere near full brightness. So much better in bright light than any GPS or smartphone I have ever owned.

When you buy the top unit

When you buy the top unit you expect it to be usable. TMK no need for you to be an arse. I have a total of 5 garmin’s so I know that it is the unit.

Uh, folks...?

Unless I read it wrong, TMK's reply was very tongue-in-cheek. He was joking. rolleyes

Don't use the Internet much and don't know what the emoticons mean or you were having a really bad day and needed someone to lash out at....if you've read any of my posts lately you would know I currently hold Garmin in rather low esteem. The other posters were correct it was CLEARLY tongue-in-cheek.

Oh please...EMOTICONS mean something on

The Internet....of course, being a dissatisfied 1490 owner...I understand your need for a whipping boy.

Didn’t mean to lash out

Didn’t mean to lash out and I apologize to you TMK, just took the post the wrong way. Garmin had just made me a very unhappy camper. Hope that you have a good week and that you are able to squeeze in some cycle time.

I quite understand! No harm>>>

I bought a 3590LMT recently

I bought a 3590LMT recently and will probably end up returning it for the sunlight readability issue.

Brightness

Guess I'll just stick with my old unit.
