Hi everyone,
I just picked up a 1450LMT today which has a different cradle than my old and still reliable 350. Does Garmin sell the beanbag friction mount arm alone or do I have to buy the whole kit?
Oh, another question. Is the new rubber friction mount better or worse than the beanbag friction mount.
Thanks.
Use force
The "ball and joint" connection between the arm and cradle should pull apart allowing you to snap the new 1450 cradle into the arm from your current mount in place of the old 350 cradle.

I have had both and find the new rubber mount to be better and very stable and steady.
I use it with the Garmins and also the Motorola car mount acc for my Verizon Droid X also snaps right on the same ball as the Garmins.

Thanks for the reply. I was just looking to have one arm for each cradle. I guess I'm kind of worried about the loosening/breaking the sockeet over time when switching. The whole mount kit is not that much money so maybe I'll go that roue.

Ah, well then you may need to buy the whole shebang. If you're patient, you might look to eBay for a used one at a price under Garmin, Amazon, etc.
Don't forget to update your POI Factory profile to reflect your new nuvi

I thought I read in a review somewhere that the rubber mount has temporary adhesive bottom. Is that true?

I don't have the new mount and found that my bean bag mount didn't hold still on Forest Roads, so I can't offer much.
But Amazon has 349 folks who reviewed the new mount and some do mention a "sticky" bottom:

No, I need the right angle ball/arm that comes with the beanbag mount kit. I only want the arm that's in that kit
I can probably call up Garmin and get one but something tells me that they will charge me the same amount of money that would get me the whole kit on Amazon.

You're fast I was just about to suggest that. But still, $12 is less than $20-25 for a whole bean bag or new sticky mount.

On the other hand, for $0 you can use your one current arm and disconnect/reconnect the ball joint between your nuvis. I bet with practice, you can become quite quick and adept. And I bet even with this mechanical effort, the ball and joint socket will outlast the electronics, batteries or usefulness of your two nuvis.
