Fastest Car In The World: 267mph

A neighbor sent me the link to this video of a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport traveling 431kph (267mph). I cannot imagine traveling at that speed on the ground. The fastest ground speed I have attained in a car is 114mph and that was in a former colleagues Z28 back in the late 1980's.

Reminds me of the Bill Cosby

Reminds me of the Bill Cosby skit, I need a car that goes 200mph because I live 2 miles from work, voom I'm at work.

Btw

The guy you see there, James May is from a show called "Top Gear" on BBS. There is an american version also, not as good though. The Bugatti has 2 V8 engines 1184bhp 4 turbo's and 4 inter coolers in it. The show is well worth watching. These guys are hilarious. I think it only airs on satellite.

... and a lot of other Bill Cosby.

Imagine a flat tyre.

I went 110 mph on a motorbike once, the bike could have gone faster but I turned a little chicken. Also I asked the boss (wife) if I can go shopping, she didn't talk about the money it was just a plain NO.

A few years ago I was in Germany as a tourist and borrowed my friends 2008 BMW M5. I was on the Autobahn cruising along at a cool 125 MPH which is 201 KPH. The car has electronic speed limiter preventing the car from going over 155 MPH. BMW claims a top speed of 200 MPH without the limiter. The reason for the limiter is basically because even the best high speed tires can't handle the speed if they have more than a few thousand miles of every day driving on them.

What was most impressive was at 125 MPH it was as if I was sitting in luxurious cocoon and the effortlessness of the driving experience.

What did surprise most of all was how many cars passed me going at least 15-25 MPH faster than I was going.

You guys

You guys have to be kidding me. 115 miles an hour, is the fastest? What happened? Didn't you guys grow up racing? 140 miles an hour is the fastest i have done on the highway. It was in 1993 with a 1991 Ford Mustang Cobra, that i bought new out of the showroom. Pedal was NOT on the floor yet. Sold the car the following week. Decided to grow up. I was 40...lol. Momma loved that car, she was with me when i did 140. She cried when i sold it.
I get to keep my "MAN CARD"
You guys better hand it in....lol

Pussy.

I did 170 MPH (270 KPH) on my bike, flat out at 11,000 rpm.

That's as fast as I ever want to go on the ground...

What happened 60 car lengths later, hopefully nothing serious.

Luckily

Luckily everybody behind me saw the brake lights ahead and nothing happened to us, can't say the same for the ones that caused the the stoppage.

I understand, however my 125 MPH on the Autobahn was for a good 5 miles and I was getting passed smile What a joy to drive like that and not have to worry about getting stopped by the law for speeding.

The only worry is some unskilled tourist driving faster than you :0

The car did 12.0 seconds in the quarter mile. Never passed anyone, no one on that stretch of the road.

That's all LOL?!?! Actually for the 401 in Toronto, that would be the equivalent of driving the Long Island Expressway that fast assuming you were somewhere between Islington and the DVP. Too damn much traffic most of the time both here and by you. Of course on the QEW from Niagara to Hamilton, 125kph is what you do in the slow lane!

I've been on this section of road a few times, the pace is excellent! It seems that overall people can handle driving safely there (from what I've seen).

I once hit 136 mph in my first car, a re-built Pontiac Lemans T37, before I left off the gas (I think it had a bit more left, though). I had my Subaru Legacy GT at 134 mph going up a long, slow hill but left off early 'cause I knew a spot coming up that the state troopers like to sit and watch. ALL good fun once in a while!

Fast car

Saw it on a show on Wealth TV last night. Really expensive but really cool. I think that was the name of the show - Cool Toys (or something like that)

lol

Aardvark, Is that in 2nd or 3nd gear. Just curious. LOL

TOO FAST

i wish I had that car to go thru some of the speed traps around here.

Awesome!

No available radar detector would suffice!

I'll consider

I would move to tax free states like Montana... before buying this Bugatti. The saving on tax alone can buy a good tow truck in case something go wrong or wreck.

Pretty incredible..

Wow.. I thought the Lamborghini Aventador was fast..
