Naming my sdhc card/file

I recently added a sdhc 4G (format FAT 32) to my nuvi 260W. Initially the drive appeared on my Macbook Pro as "no name." What should I do to configure it for use the next time I download maps? Then, how do I do it?

It's always a smart idea to name both your Nuvi's SD card and the actual Nuvi internal storage drive as well. There are many posts here where people have formatted their Nuvi by mistake and IMO many of these situations could have been avoided simply by naming the drives.
I'm not a Mac guy but I'm sure it's a similar process as it is in Windows. I always name my SD card something like 8GBNuvi3790, which lets me know that this card is an 8GB card and it will be used with my 3790. At the same time I'll find the Nuvi internal storage drive listed in My Computer (Nuvi is attached to PC), right click on it, and Rename it to something like Nuvi3790. Now I can easily identify both the drive belonging to the Nuvi and the SD card installed in it.
As far as the file names and folder structure for the maps is concerned, that can vary depending on the model of Nuvi you have. Someone with your type of device will be able to answer that part of your question.
Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.
