Why you are giving up an inexpensive drug. Poor results or side effects?

Inexpensive?
I wouldn't exactly call Lipitor inexpensive ... even the generic form is in the upper tier on the co-pay of my insurance. But I would also like to know why you would participate in the trial rather than use Lipitor.

Congrats on the house
No problems with the home inspection or appraisal, and now the loan is approved; so I'll be moving back into a house soon.
Things have been rather chaotic for me over the last year and a half, and it's nice to be getting back to a situation that's more solid and stable.

I’ve been taking Lipitor for almost 3 years and it has lowered the bad but hasn’t done much for the good.

My dr has recommended Lipitor & similar drugs. I am afraid of side effects so I refuse his advice. I contend that my numbers aren't that bad. I have seen active elderly people start taking the drug and observed their energy level drop considerably.
