It's about to get worse here

It's about to get worse here in Chicago-they are going to put speed cameras up within 1/8 mile of schools and parks "to protect the children." They will start by retrofitting the rlc's with speed detectors. I'm so happy they care about kids razz

So who at CNBC...

...is a member of POI Factory? Someone had to sign up to get the red light and speed camera files.

The page

http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/us/red-light-cameras

lists the cities and counts (conveniently sorted in descending order), even for non-members.

good call

That's definitely a good thing. Let's face it, technology makes it harder to break the law. It's really a joke when people say it's their Constitutional right to break the law, run a light, molest someone, steal something. Hey, if man an commit these crimes, man can also invent technology to stop it.

Speed Cameras Stopping Speeders..? NOT!

It looks like you're another one who misunderstands what technology can (and can not) do. Technology will never replace morality.. or the thought and action of breaking the law.

Do you really believe that a speed camera is going to stop speeding? If that were the case, then all the red light camera's that have been in use would have stopped all the red light runners by now!

I'm not really lost.... just temporarily misplaced!

i was born in a small town

When you believe that technology is ineffective as a deterrent, I have to wonder about the population density of your locale. When it reaches a certain level, there has to be order, i.e. people cannot be allowed to run free. Hmmm.....what happens on the subway when it gets crowded, such that the doors cannot close? Let's just let society do what it wants. smile

Youtube

Check Youtube to see what happens with a very crowded subway that can't close the doors... If I could access it from here I'd paste in a few links. I think "subway" and "Tokyo" should answer your question grin
