new & interesting places for your GPS

Nuvi 1300 and Mapsourse

A friend has a Nuvi 1300. I would like to help him learn the many benefits of the GPS in developing routes, etc. He bought it new and it did not come with a disk. He therefore does not have the MapSource program. We have downloaded Base Camp, but I'm more comfortable with MapSource.

How do you install MapSource without the orginal disk.

See this link

Note that two techniques are offered: 1) The How-To, and 2) The Garmin Training Center method.

Sorry, No Routes on 1300

Every newbie needs help and pointers in the right direction when they get their first GPS so thanks for helping him out. There are many things that MapSource and BaseCamp can do for him, especially with backing up Favorite or archiving past trips, etc.

Note though that the Nuvi 1300 does NOT support ROUTEs, so don't get him too excited on routes.
