Garmin Nuvi 660 Won't Play TTS?!

Hi, all. I am having a strange issue with my Garmin Nuvi 660. It will not play any TTS voices anymore for some reason.

I can switch to American English (non TTS) and the voice comes out fine, but for the last week or so, none of the TTS voices will play.

I have tried using the reset button on the back of the unit but this did not help.

I frequently download updates (maps - I have a lifetime subscription - voices, etc.) but this is the first time I've run in to this issue, and I've had the unit going on 4 years now.

Anyone heard of this sort of problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Try hard reboot

Turn off the gps device. Press and hold on lower left or upper right screen corner then turn the gps on. Folow the default to do the hard reset. I don't have that model anymore but I used to do that on that model. Hope that helpl.

OK, Thanks!

OK, I will give that a try.

Thanks for the quick reply!

If the hard reset doesn't work

Go into your voice folder and delete the file your currently using. Attach the unit to your pc & use the WebUpdater program to download a new voice file. Perhaps the old file your using became corrupt for some reason or another.

When you get a resolution, please post it so that others can learn.

Thanks in advance

YES!

Hello again. The 'hard reset' (holding the corner of the screen during boot-up, etc.) did the trick.

The TTS voices are now back! I just needed to re-customize the unit and key back in my 'Favorites' (the unit kept my Custom POIs) and it's all good.

Thank you for the help!!!
