I have a friend who recently moved from TN to The Villages. The video is correct, the first thing he bought after his house was a golf cart.

I just don't see me doing that.

After attending a couple of 500 races and freezing our butts off and also sitting on the back stretch we now prefer to watch the race on our 50 " TV in our living room !

We are getting a bit of snow here in north eastern Tennessee tonight.

Vender really pushing Rand McNally RVND7710 at rally. I have one. Don;t waste your money.

I cannot believe I am saying this but I want to see it snow.

Our first snowfall in NW IL. 4 inches us just right.

First appreciable snowfall in Central Indiana. Winter has finally arrived! Drive safe, all.

Costly NEW AREA CODE: READ AND PASS ALONG

New Area Code - PLEASE READ Be sure you read this and pass it on.

809 Area Code
We actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey, this is Karen. Sorry I missed you- get back to us quickly. I have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809. We did not respond. Then this week, we received the following e-mail:

Do Not DIAL AREA CODE 809, 284, AND 876 from the U.S. or Canada .

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809

This one is being distributed all over the US ... This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call.

Be sure you read this and pass it on.

They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc..
In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls.

If you call from the U.S. or Canada , you will apparently be charged a minimum of
$2425 per-minute.

And you'll also get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges.
WHY IT WORKS:

The 809 area code is located in the Dominican Republic .
The charges afterward can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong.

I enjoy the games even though my injury plagued team lost last week.

That almost sounds like an excuse for them.

It decided to start snowing in Rochester, NY yesterday and now it won't stop. It's a really late start to winter this year compared to last year...

Looks and feels like winter outside today (snow flurries and 20F), I have an inch of snow to shovel off the driveway and sidewalk.

Pretty mild winter so far. It made it up to 45F this past Wednesday, 3 days ago. Still have not seen a heavy snowfall requiring the snow blower.

60 Degrees right now in South Florida. Brrrrrrr!!!

Sure is nice when one can say "Dang it's cold" and you're talking about 45 degrees F and not 25 below with 40+ mph winds. Yesterday it didn't get much above 70 F!

Hopefully in the office the telecom dept. blocks these area codes in their dial plan. But it is truly bizarre, say to block Mexico if the office is in SoCal, or the Domincan if the office is in NY. As for thousands a minute, LOL.

I would like to see the Bronco's move up. A long shot but so was last week.

That will be one to watch tomorrow. Was a good game last week.

I have to say it ! I went to the very first home game the (then) Boston Patriots played in the American Football League . Been following them since - my kids in NH and their families are fanatic follwers.

That was over 51 years ago when they first played as the Boston Patriots !
