765t problem after last map update

Well, yes, maybe.?. Not a good answer, I know. Yes, after the map update before last, my 765t started rebooting on rare occasions, but I have not noted when it did this. I am going from NC to Cherry Hill, NJ in the wee morning. Will take note of when it reboots. One thing I did do just the other day was install the latest firmware update. So maybe that will fix it. Will get back on here with a reply when we get get.

Try a hard reset. There have been updates that caused a bit of wonkiness, but now, I always do a reset.

It's most likely an issue that occurred to your specific device if you haven't found any widespread issues being reported by now for your model or other nuvi models.

I had a similar issue that occurred with one of my nuvis just once right after a map update as well. It was suggested that I do a Hard Reset. I did and my problem was solved. I'll suggest the same for you:

Mine did not re-boot when junction views come up - and they come up a lot - but it wouldn't link to my phone consistently. So I reset it. But then I noticed the phone asking if it was OK to link to the 765t. I changed the preference on the phone - not sure how it changed - and the bluetooth works fine again. I'm not sure it was ever the nuvi. But I did reset after the last map update.

May not be the cause but no harm in checking.

Are you certain the junction view file is the correct one? The file MUST correspond with the map you are using, it cannot be a different version.
For instance you cannot use the "junction view" file that came with CNNA 2012.20 with the latest map 2012.30.

Is it possible when the map got updated the junction view did not?

If you have the 2012.30 map loaded, please check your junction view file in Windows Explorer, it's in the Garmin\JCV folder. It should indicate D3060040A.jcv at 775,464KB,, this is the correct junction view file for the 765T using the 2012.30 map.

Thanks, I checked it and it is indeed the correct one. I appreciate the suggestions. Just did a hard reset after backing up unit. I will see if that solves problem. Will take a few weeks for the verdict as I am officially on vacation until after the first of the year!

At least now you know the JCV file is not the culprit. Thanks for letting us know.

You don't have to go anywhere on your vacation (veg out) but your GPS can simualte a nice drive past a few JVs. It may not give the same result with the sattelites turned off but it can't hurt a thing trying.

My 2 765Ts have no problems with the last map update and have the the latest firmware. Probably an isolated 1 time thing that the reset will cure.
