MSN Traffic

Does anybody know if garmin is going to do anything about MSN stopping traffic at the end of this month?

Garmin has nothing to do

Garmin has nothing to do with Microsoft's MSN traffic.

I believe you would buy a different traffic receiver and pick up/buy traffic from another source. Research your options cause it might be better to buy a new unit with free lifetime traffic.

Second that

There's a good reason to get a new one for Christmas.

Lost MSN several months ago

The MSN receiver in the power cord to my 885t failed several months ago. I took it apart to see if there was anything obvious but didn't see it. I replaced it with a power cord from my 760 that I had previously upgraded to lifetime traffic. Works fine in my 885t.

I currently have no plans to "upgrade" from my 760, 765t or 885t. They all work fine, all have bluetooth, and all hold a large number of songs and playlists I use when traveling. I have two lifetime traffic cords between the three nuvis and it works fine. I can only use 1 at a time, after all.

Because she would get half or better of all your stuff. smile

Why buy a new one

Why buy a new one, my 885T works great plus I also have Onstar. What do the new garmins do better. I need a good reason to get a new one.

GTM-20

If you use a GDB-50 receiver with your current Garmin device, a GTM-20 will allow that device to receive RDS. There are usually some pretty good deals on used ones on eBay. A quick completed search on eBay shows them going for between $12 and $20. Check to see if a particular unit for sale has an active subscription.
