I want to back up my Nuvi 765t but I forgot how to do this. I found the post by jgermann but it doesn't seem to work with Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

@HerbSch - sorry it did not work. We need to find out why. What step did not work? Can you get to Windows Explorer?
I only have XP and Vista operating systems so I can not check the instructions on Win7 but I cannot imagine why they would be different. I would think that Windows Explorer would be the same. You can get there by left doubleclicking on My Computer or Computer.

When I look at my nuvi, I see these folders
Audible
Garmin
JPEG
Reports
I also see the file
.VolumeIcon.icns
What do you see?

Press Ctrl A (to select all
Press Ctrl A (to select all files/folder)
Press Ctrl C (to copy)
Go to any folder where you would like to save the data onto
Press Ctrl V (to paste)
That folder now contains an exact copy of your Nuvi data.
