Re: Hidden Files

In the same area, you also have to uncheck "Hide protected system files"

For me, in explorer, I just add in the address bar ".System" (that is the hidden directory.)

Either way works.

I have a 1490T and I can easily see the .system folder by doing what you said--unticking or unchecking this or that. But on my new 2595LMT, I can't access that folder! Has Garmin buried this folder somewhere?

Not buried, just hidden.
From your main screen got into your master volume screen and touch and hold the top right corner of the screen. After about 5 to 10 seconds you will get the diagnostic page. Scroll down to and select MTP settings. Check Mass Storage then save and exit all the way out. You nowe have access to the missing folders.

Thanks for the help and quick reply. Following someone else's tip, I managed to access the folder also by holding down the speed indicator for about 5 seconds and selected MTP settings, then Mass storage.

Changing the MTP setting worked on the 2495LMT

Thanks much. I have a 2495LMT and I couldn't find the map files even though I had the appropriate windows explorer folder options set. It appears that the latest nuvi series devices are different in this regard.

Same problem, thanks for solution

Just bought a Garmin 2495LMT, and having the same problem with Garmin Communicator not seeing Garmin unit. After 6 emails back and forth to Garmin support, I got the info on going into MTP settings and clicking on Mass Storage. Problem solved. Thanks for posting this!

That method worked for my 3597 as well.

Thanks for the tip.
