Mobile speed cameras coming to Howard Co. (MD) school zones

From http://www.wtop.com/?nid=64&sid=2583074 : Mobile speed cameras in Howard County will start issuing warnings to drivers speeding through school zones soon.
The weekly list of speed camera locations can be found on the Howard County web site: http://www.howardcountymd.gov/speedcameras.htm
It appears as if they will be moving the cameras weekly. The Baltimore-Washington area seems to be quickly becoming the top automated enforcement area in the country.

Popping up like weeds

The mobile speed cameras are popping up like weeds all over Maryland. Here in my neighborhood on the Eastern Shore, there are speed cameras in Cambridge, Trappe, Easton, Denton, and Centerville, to name a few. They're great moneymakers!!

those "Reach the Beach" weekends. Of course, having driven over there during the week, the locals aren't letting any barnacles grow on their vehicles either.

As a resident of Montgomery

As a resident of Montgomery County since 1985, I make it my business not to give the County or State any extra money in response to their high taxation, high property tax rates & assessments, & most recently, their love of speed & redlight cameras.

The State of MD really needs a referendum on this matter so the people may make their "love" of these matters better known - especially at election time.

I left MD bc of all of the

I left MD bc of all of the extra taxation that they have. If they need more money they just tax their citizens more instead of trying to make budget cuts.

I have no problem with speed

I have no problem with speed cameras in school zones. I'm still waiting for someone come up with enforcment cameras on school buses to catch those self important people who can't wait a few minutes to let children get on or off the bus.
