red light cameras and speed cameras

I just downloaded poi for red light cameras and speed cameras onto my nuvi 780. I am interested in testing this out as i know of a red light camera that is nearby and i want to test this out. I guess all i have to do is drive with my nuvi on and i should receive an alert when i get close to the camera, assuming that this camera is included in list of sites. Am i correct

POI Alerts

I believe by default the Nuvi will alert you.
To be sure, click on tools -then settings- then hit the down key to "Proximity Points".
Hit Proximity Points - then change
MAKE SURE THE CUSTOM POIS BOX IT CHECKED.

A way to verify if the file is properly loaded is to tap the "WHERE TO", then down key- tap on "Extras".

That should show you all POI's on the Nuvi, scroll to whatever references red light or speed cameras and click on it. It will show you what is available starting with the closest ones to the last current location you had on you Nuvi.

That will get you the default "bong".

You can then get creative and add a bitmap icon and a verbal warning also.
