Nuvi 2350LMT - Only supports ".wav" sound files for POI

My first post. Please bear with me.

I'm pretty new to the GPS game, and have been playing around with custom POI's on my Nuvi 2350LMT. My first try was creating a proximity alert for when I get near home. Everything was fine except for that my Garmin just ignored the mp3 sound file - electing to only play the default "ding-ding" sound. I tried several different sound clips, making sure that the file name was identical to the cvs file and the bmp file, etc.

Finally, based on what I had read on the POI blog, I went and converted an mp3 clip to a wav file, and - Presto! We have liftoff!

My conclusion is that the Nuvi 2350LMT will only support ".wav" files - not mp3.

But, I bet you ALL knew that already. Right?

Bob, good for you for figuring out about the .wav requirement.

For others, a good trick is to go to
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134
and put a check mark in the "compare" check box next to your unit (on the right hand side) and then scroll to the top or the bottom and press the "COMPARE" button. Now you will see all the features available on Garmins and whether or not your unit has that feature.

For the 2350LMT it is at the bottom - mp3 player - no
