Nuvi 750 won't turn off - until battery dies

My garmin nuvi 750 stopped working a while back. When plugged in, the Garmin logo shows for 6 seconds, then the screen goes blank for 2 seconds, logo appears again for 6 seconds, and goes blank again for 2 seconds. It keeps doing this until the battery dies. It won't acquire satellites nor can I turn it off. I tried holding the on-off switch all the way to the left for 8 seconds - still won't durn off. Tried to reset by pushing botton left corner of screen while turning on - didn't work either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Garmin wants $100 to check it out!

Isn't the reset in the lower right corner of the screen?

yes, it us - sorry - tried that too and it didn't work.
Maybe corrupt files
That sounds like symptoms resulting from having corrupt map file(s). Did you make some sort of map change just before the unit started doing that?
Does your unit show up as a drive on your computer?
Also flashing the unit with the wrong firmware can cause those symptoms. Did you maybe do that?
update it?
did you tried to update with garmin software?
maybe file is corrupt
Switch problem
