Saw a postal vehicle blow an intersection today. Thinking that it has no plates anyway or the union protects them.

Wouldn't be surprised if
Wouldn't be surprised if they got away with it. In CA there was a piece on tv awhile back that public sector workers (at least some categories), have their addresses etc hidden at Dept. of motor vehicles, so they don't end up paying for traffic transgressions - costing the state tons in lost revenues. This apparently was union negotiated. Go figure!
Violate Bike lanes as well
Although bike lanes are protected some believe they are above the law. Here is an interesting article of USPS drivers with pictures.

Illegal parking
My neighbor was involved in accident with USPS mail carrier truck. Our town cop wrote that the cause of accident was USPS illegally parked. However he did not issue a ticket. The mail carrier only showed her gov't license, not her Illinois license. When the local insurance agent contacted USPS, they refused to pay, citing that they are autonomous and can park anywhere. I just asked my neighbor for an update. He said USPS finally decided to pay.

There was an article earlier
There was an article earlier this year about how the Chicago Transit Authority has been paying red light tickets. The union sued to force the CTA to pay the tickets, which have amounted to 340,000 dollars in the last 3 years. So if your bus fare goes up a little here in Chicago, guess why? I know if I got a ticket in our company car or van, my boss sure wouldn't pay it himself.
Probably
As a former Verizon employee (admittedly before the RLCs), I know that repair truck drivers get traffic citations and are required to pay them. Since the company knows who is driving a particular truck I'm pretty sure they will be required to pay. Additionally, these drivers have CDLs and risk losing the CDL class.
