Before anyone condemns those nasty cameras one should read the police report.
Between June 27 and July 31, 1035 people received tickets for running the red lights at 5 intersections. Over 400 of those people were also issued speeding citations which tells us that they sped up to run the light. Several people got more than 1 citation. The mobile speed camera caught 396 speeders.
The police cannot be everywhere 24/7 but the cameras can. Don't break the law and the city will not profit.
The position of the camera on the interstate is where many cars wiz by you at 70mph entering the city. Now they need one in the 55mph zone going both ways.
