Tomtom route cancellation

I have a Tomtom 540TM. Is there a way to cancel a route that is in progress? I understand I could start a new route and that would cancel the first route. But I want to cancel and not have a route active.

Clearing a route

Cancel Route

In the Driving View, tap in the blue bottom right corner. Then at the bottom of the route summary screen that opens, tap Clear Route.
