Duplicating Waypoints

Why do some of my waypoints clone themselves? I delete the duplicates but eventually I go in and find "Joe's" and "Joe's 1" and "Joe's 2". Some of the offenders duplicate once, some twice and some three times. Not all of my waypoints do this. Anybody else experience this?

This just happened to me on some waypoints when I added some new ones from Mapsource to Nuvi 770. Rather than selecting the new ones, I added all in my Mapsource waypoint file. Only a few were duplicated

I found if I pull my Favorites over with Mapsource, modify a location or other data for the waypoint and then send them back to the GPS, any one that has been modified will become a duplicate.
I usually send addresses to my unit from Google Maps or enter the address directly and then save it to my Favorites. If I later want to modify the position, I pull my favorites over from my unit, copy the waypoint I want to modify, choose File/New from the menu and then paste this waypoint again. I then make the modification and when finished, send it back to my unit.
When I boot up I search for the old waypoint and the new one with the same name, but appended with "1" I delete the old, unnumbered waypoint then rename the remaining one without the appended number.
If someone knows a better way to do this I'm all ears.
