Updating csv files

I think POI Factory is a great service. Thank you!
In November 2010 I downloaded several csv files from POI Factory to my computer, then to my Garmin nuvi 255W. For example:
McDonalds_USA.csv
Starbucks_NA_Nov.csv
WiFi.csv

Now, over 7 months later, I am sure that there are new stores added to these companies and closed stores removed. So how do I update my csv files?
1. Are these csv files dated?
2. How do I see the date of the file on the POI website? If my downloaded csv on my computer is the same date as the csv shown on the POI Factory website, then I will not bother downloading it again. If a csv file has been updated, I will download it to my computer and then to my Garmin.
3. Will my Garmin automatically delete the old, outdated csv?

I would think others would have these same questions, but I could not find a FAQ at POI Factory to answer them. If such a FAQ exists, please direct me to it. Otherwise, help!

Thank you,

On the POI-Factory page you'll find your user name in the upper left. Under this are several links, one of which is "My Favorite Files." Click on this and you will see the names of all the files you have downloaded in the past. Also on the file name are tags stating there is a new version available and the date of the last update.

Copy these to your PC into the folder you use to hold your downloads. As you haven't updated POI in several months, go to http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99... to download and install the latest POI Loader program. This version (2.6.1) is at least 7 times faster than the 2.4 versions.

As you run the updated program you will be asked if you want to delete all existing custom POI files. The program will then install all your POI in a file having the same name as the folder on your computer with a .GPI extension.

Also on the main download

Also on the main download page for the file the maintainer will usually state what was updated and why.
