Phantom Alert revisit

I have read the threads on the Phantom Alert service and was wondering if people are happy with the service? If you use a Garmin then how are the updates handled? Do you need to connect to their website regularly or would it be better to have this on a smartphone? If it is a user driven database then who is going to input a movable speedtrap? I have been happy with the POI factory RLC file but I have a friend that won't slow down and picks up a ticket here and there!

**I have a friend that won't slow down and picks up a ticket here and there! I suspect your friend will continue to get the tickets no matter what he/she does.**

Best option would be to install laser shifters and get a radar detector. Currently the model I'm using has a database updated weekly for speed cameras, speed traps, and red light cameras.

I use POI factory's red

I use POI factory's red light and speed camera database, and also have the trapster database.

Trapster has the only advantage of also having the locations of speed-trap areas (not just cameras).

I try to update my GPS once per month.

Use Phantom Alert

I have used Phantom Alert since it came out - I bought their lifetime subscription when it was first offered - I love it. I travel the country a lot with the RV, it download the alerts for all states, but use only the red light camera and speed cameras/speed traps. I don't want/need all the railroad crossings, DUI checkpoints, Curves, or School Zones. I have always found it to be very accurate.
