The States, in general, are so short of funds that they'd do anything to keep that money coming in, UNLESS it screws up their re-election! Of course, it's all for YOUR safety. If a political movement got underway which let them know in no uncertain terms that their re-elections were at stake, you'd see how fast they'd get rid of them. That's what it'll take folks. Perhaps they're just sick and tired of worrying about getting hit with an unexpected $100 tax followed by six or seven years of increased premiums enriching the insurance companies with no noticeable public benefit?
