GTM26??

I received my 1490LMT and it came with a GTM26 traffic receiver. The Garmin site does not show the GTM26 as compatible with the Clear Channel traffic subscription. Anyone know if it is or not? They don't show a GTM26 in their database/search engine..

What is the difference between the 25 and 26? I can't find info on the 26 with a Google search.

However, in my driveway, in the same vehicle, at the same time, the two units show a different list of traffic in the Traffic Search.

So what is the difference? I have a Nuvi "new" used 1490T and it it does not accept the GTM-26, says it is an imcompatible accesory. Also it has not found initial satellites in ten minutes.

According to the Garmin web site, the nuvi 1490T uses a GTM 35 traffic receiver (click Accessories, then Traffic Receivers):

The 1490T is compatible with the GTM 35 and 25 (click Compatible Devices). The GTM 26 may not be:

[Update] Just a thought, but have you checked for firmware/software/file updates for your nuvi with WebUpdater? There may be a firmware or other update available that's needed.

Garmin website probably wrong. GTM 26 came in the box. Unit was not getting satellites. After upgrading the firmware GTM 26 is recognized and all is well. Initial satellite acquisition took 10 minutes or more, now OK. This has the annoying free offers pop-ups. GTM 25 may have lifetime without the pop ups. Not much of an improvement over my Nuvi 660T. I bought it to play around with the Eco HD accessory I got at a garage sale.

That's great to hear.
Re: pop-up ads. As far as I know, they'll always be there for everyone except those who pay for a Navteq or ClearChannel lifetime subscription.

My 1490 came with the GTM 25 and has always had ads. I have had it over 1 year.

Have had my 1490 for over a year and have yet to see an ad. Does the location depend whether one gets ads? I live in Montreal, Canada. Not complaining though.
