I need an car power charger for a 680 with MSN direct.

I just bought a Garmin 680 nuvi off of E-bay. The unit came with a 3rd party power charger that is not compatible with MSN direct services. The question is, does any one have an oem charger or be able to direct me where to get one hopefully cheap.

Why??

MSN Direct goes away at the end of this year. The latest maps (2011.4) don't seem to work with it, at least on my unit. I doubt MSN would even activate a receiver at ths point, but then again if you are willing to shell out for 7 months of service...

I'd look for the other traffic receiver.

MSN Direct will cease service in just over 8 months

Are you aware that MSN Direct will cease service in just over 8 months?

Part of the notice they sent out to all the "lifetime service" subscribers on 10/27/2009

"Dear valued MSN® Direct One-Time Payment customer,

We are writing to let you know that MSN Direct service will no longer be available after January 1st, 2012. To continue to receive service until then there is no action required on your part. You will automatically continue to enjoy the full benefits of MSN Direct, along with service and support, up until that date."

I realize their going belly up

I just wanted to catch the tail end of it. I found out the GTM 20 will work, I just wanted the bells and whistles. Some thing different.

I wouldn't say "belly up" as that implies bankruptcy. I understand they are shutting down the service because it costs more than they were making.

GTM20 will work as a charger but you won't get any MSN
